Need help with your Rehoboth Beach house?

Welcome to Bob’s Home Services LLC or BHS. I created this veteran-owned company to assist those who may own a house in Rehoboth Beach but mainly live elsewhere.  I am licensed (City & State), bonded, and insured in order to minimize your risk of having someone enter your house.  The benefit you get with BHS is you are hiring Me.  It’s my name on the company and that is what you get.

BHS is a niche property management company that provides excellent customer service.  I can help you manage your Rehoboth property in ways that others cannot.

Background

My name is Bob Ross.  I grew up in Alexandria, Virginia and then attended the United States Merchant Marine Academy (Kings Point) and graduated in 1983 and spent 12 years in the Naval Reserve.  After working as the captain of a dinner boat in Chicago for two years, I moved back to Virginia where I went to work various Government contractors for 15 years supporting the US Navy and Coast Guard as an engineer on several different shipbuilding projects.  As technology was evolving and the Internet became a household word, I went to work for Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) as a Project Manager in their IT Department.  I was also one of the first Project Managers to obtain the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI).  I worked there for 22 years managing dozens of major enterprise-wide projects.  I retired from FCPS in 2021 and moved to Rehoboth Beach.

The academy taught me honor and discipline.  My professional career taught me to have a good work ethic and a can-do attitude.  I started this company because I saw a need for these types of services and wanted to do something positive for my new neighborhood.

Why Bob's Home Services?

Home Ownership and Project Management Experience

I have been a homeowner since 1986.  When I was a kid, my father taught me how to work on cars and how to fix things in general.  So when things broke in my own house, I fixed them.  This was before the Internet and YouTube but I had a set of Time Life Home Improvement books and I used them to fix things like leaking copper pipes, broken appliances, lawn mowers and even drywall repair.  You name it, I fixed it.  It was only under extreme circumstances that I would be forced to call in a professional.

With this experience I can help you beyond just checking on your house and opening it up for contractors and delivery folks.  I can help advise you when it comes to home repair.  Whether it’s figuring out who to call or what to do, I can help.  When the contractor gives you a list of things that absolutely have to be done, I can review it and help you determine which items are “must do’s” and which ones may be optional.

With my Project Management experience, I will be able to help you through the “procurement phase” of your home project.  By that I mean that I can help you figure out what it is you want to do, meet with contractors to explain the work to them and solicit bids and then review the bids with you and make recommendations.  Once the project is awarded to a contractor I can also assist you in keeping tabs on their work and verifying that the job was done correctly.  Most contractors have their own project managers but I can assist you as your liaison with the contractor.

When you hire Bob’s Home Services, you get me, Bob Ross.
